Buzz Kull (au)
coldwave • minimal • darkwave
Buzz Kull exists as an enigmatic force in the Australian underground scene, he embodies the raw essence of
existential longing and emotional desolation. With a sonic palette that paints in shades of darkness, Buzz
Kull's music unveils the hidden depths of the human psyche with haunting precision.
Drawing inspiration from the fringes of post-punk, coldwave, and minimal wave, Buzz Kull weaves together
pulsating synths, relentless drum machines, and haunting vocals that becomes a vessel for catharsis, a
conduit for the unspoken yearnings and existential questions that weigh heavy on the human spirit.
Through Buzz Kull’s exploration in sound, they invite us to embrace our own vulnerabilities, to confront the
demons that lurk within, and to find solace in the beauty of misery. In a world obsessed with surface
appearances, Buzz Kull reminds us that the true depths of the human experience can only be discovered by diving into the darkness.

Plattenbau (de)
noise rock • post-punk • new wave
Plattenbau takes you to the basement of your soul, drains the swamp of the collective unconscious and presses it into symmetrical shapes, easily digestible for the modern consumer.
They are NOT, as some have claimed, a cult or a corporation, nor are they nihilists. They are 4 international individuals who met in Berlin, Germany and bonded over punk records, arthouse cinema and the occult.
Perhaps best summed up in their company slogan “Tight, loose and evilTM” their sound ranges from noise rock to new wave with arrangements akin to krautrock and even techno - owing their influences as much to the clubs as to guitar music.
Perhaps best summed up in their company slogan “Tight, loose and evilTM” their sound ranges from noise rock to new wave with arrangements akin to krautrock and even techno - owing their influences as much to the clubs as to guitar music. Despite this, all their songs have a distinctly pop element of catchy hook lines and tight arrangements. “I guess it’s a rock band” drawls Lloyd, when asked the nth time to describe genre. “It sounds a bit like the soundtrack to a German VHS horror movie from the early 90s, including commercial breaks.” The Korg M1, a mainstay of 90s series and commercial soundtracks, makes up a heavy portion of the sound with glistening chorus strings and paranoid voice pads, while Brandon Walsh’s robotic drums and Sally Brown’s intricate jangly basslines form the foundations for Lewis Lloyd’s dark baritone vocals and Jesper Munk’s mystical noise guitars.
Plattenbau [commie block in German] like all of us, was brought up in a box, and is trying to make sense of the world in the 21st century. Their ultimate aim and purpose is to identify the cracks in the 4-walled concept of modern society and bust it open.
In 2022, Plattenbau released their second album “Shape / Shifting” on Oliver Ackermann’s (A Place To Bury Strangers/Death By Audio) label Dedstrange, joining APTBS on a roster with fellow Berlin punks Jealous and Data Animal. They played a sold out release show at Haus der Statistik, Berlin, supported APTBS for 12 shows of their European tour and went on to play EU Headline shows and festivals (including Fusion Festival and Waves Vienna). Plattenbau have started 2023 with a number of live shows including supporting APTBS again in both Berlin and New York City, and performances at the SXSW and New Colossus festivals. “Net Prophet”, the band’s 3rd studio record, releases September 8th 2023 on Dedstrange.

Snackbar (nl)
punk • garage punk
Amsterdam punk quartet SNACKBAR combines raw garage punk with Dutch lyrics taken from life, into short and loud songs. They call it hap-slik-wegpunk, fast food for the ears with a hint of hardcore here and there. The lyrics they write are humorous, hard and honest with the greatest source of inspiration being programs from villa achterwerk and the tl-lit neighborhood snack bar.

Déandrah (ch/nl)
audiovisual • electronic
Déandrah is an intermedia artist whose work inhabits the space between definition and destruction. Rooted in aesthetics of collapse, their performances disengage the structures that hold identity in place, allowing the subconscious to leak into the present through sound, movement, light, and distortion.
Where dissociation becomes method, each appearance is a threshold crossed in real time—inviting the audience into a liminal state inviting the audience into a liminal state where beauty blurs into abrasion, and boundaries grate beyond recognition.
Nothing repeats. There are no signatures, only symptoms. Déandrah resists coherence not to confuse, but to carve out space for something rawer: a presence that flickers, fractures, and insists on its own instability.
There is no origin story. No fixed meaning. Just a name, a symbol, and a breath—at a time and place, forever now and here.

Black Currant (nl)
dark • danceable
BLACK CURRANT is an all-female three-piece from Rotterdam and Amsterdam, formed out of the shared desire to do things their own way and a mutual love for fuzzy guitars and dark and danceable sounds.
What started out as a somewhat unconventional online music publication back in 2018, filled with interviews and photoshoots with bands and musicians whenever and wherever paths crossed, led more and more to dj-ing and hosting at festivals and events. The BLACK CURRANT of 2024 is mainly focused on sharing the music they listen to.
